What we collect
- Commissioners: your email address (to sign you in and send your pool links) and the pools you create.
- Players: the display name you type on a board or leaderboard, and an email address only if you choose to add one to receive your picks link.
- Everyone: standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) kept briefly for security and debugging, and a session cookie if you sign in.
How we use it
- To run your pools: showing names on boards, sending sign-in and pool links, updating scores.
- To send a short monthly product update — only if you opted in, and every one includes a one-click unsubscribe.
- To keep the Service working and abuse-free.
We don't sell personal information, and we don't use your data for third-party advertising profiles. If ads appear on free pool pages, they are served as ordinary page content; we don't hand advertisers your email or names.
Who processes it
We run on Amazon Web Services (hosting and email delivery). Emails are sent through Amazon SES. These providers process data on our behalf under their own security commitments.
Cookies and local storage
One cookie keeps commissioners signed in. Boards use your browser's local storage to remember which squares are yours on that device. No tracking pixels, no analytics cookies.
Retention and deletion
Pools and names stay until the pool's owner deletes them or the pool ages out. To have your email or display name removed, write to support@kickoffpools.com from the address in question and we'll handle it promptly.
Children
The Service is for ages 18 and up, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we'll post the new version here with a new date.
